Yan Ma is an associate in the Finance Department in the Frankfurt office.

Yan advises clients on a range of domestic and cross-border finance transactions. Particularly, she represents financial institutions, private equity funds, and corporate borrowers in:

  • Acquisition finance
  • Real estate finance
  • Project finance
  • Asset-based finance

Before joining Latham, Yan spent five years in the finance department of a magic circle law firm, gaining further experience through her secondment at KfW in 2022.

She is admitted to practice law in Germany as Rechtsanwältin, and obtained a Legal Profession Qualification Certificate of the People’s Republic of China.

Yan’s experience includes advising:

  • IFCO on its refinancing (term loan B of €2.4 billion and RCF of €400 million)
  • Deutsche Bank on the acquisition of approximately €1.67 billion loans from the aircraft financing portfolio of Norddeutsche Landesbank*
  • 3i Infrastructure on the acquisition of 60% in DNS:NET Group*
  • Banking consortium on the asset refinancing by Touax Rail Limited*
  • Banking consortium on the financing of the Altiplano-La Puna solar project in the province of Salta, Argentina*
  • KfW on the implementation of the corona programme “direct investments for syndicated financing”*
  • Banking consortium on a highway project in Germany*
  • Pacific Asset Management Co. Ltd. and Savills Investment Management on the acquisition of two Amazon logistic properties in Dortmund*
  • DWS on financing in connection with the acquisition of the Frankfurt premium property Marienturm*
  • Leading US investment banks on several financings of various international real estate portfolios*
