Sebastian van Helden is an associate in the Brussels and Frankfurt offices of Latham & Watkins, practicing German and EU competition law as well as foreign investment control.
Sebastian advises international clients on German, European, and global competition matters, including merger control, abuse of dominance, and cartel defense.
He advises clients on EU law matters and in obtaining merger clearances for their strategic transactions and, if required, steers the deal through the approval process of foreign investment control regimes globally and specifically in Germany.
Sebastian worked in-house supporting the Siemens legal teams in all competition and foreign investment control law related matters during an eight-month secondment.
Prior to joining Latham, Sebastian worked as a law clerk in several law firms, including in the competition team of another leading international law firm in Brussels, as well as at the European Court of Justice.
