Sven Nickel is counsel in the Frankfurt office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Real Estate Practice.

Sven advises German and international investors, asset managers, and financial institutions on real estate transactions, project developments, joint ventures, commercial leases, and all types of asset management matters.

Prior to joining Latham, Sven worked as an associate in another international law firm in the real estate department, in the Frankfurt office for seven years.

  • Acquisition of Wilhelminenhaus in Darmstadt. Extending over around 25,700 sqm, the centrally located property in Darmstadt was transferred from the commercial portfolio of DIC into the fund*

  • Advent International on a global joint venture with LANXESS and joint acquisition of DSM Engineering Materials
  • AEW on the acquisition of the office building "Baseler Palais" in Frankfurt*
  • AFIAA Investment Foundation for Real Estate Investments in foreign countries on the sale of Westfalen-Center Dortmund
  • Apollo on:
    • The €1 billion investment in the Northern Portfolio (residential real estate portfolio controlled by Vonovia)
    • The €1 billion investment in the Suedewo Portfolio (residential real estate portfolio controlled by Vonovia)
  • Barings and Tristan-managed fund CCP 5 LL on the acquisition of 34 logistics facilities for cold foods from Nagel. The transaction was conducted by way of a sale & leaseback deal. The portfolio comprises 260,000 sqm located in Germany and Denmark*

    • Sale of the TOP 5 Portfolio. The portfolio consists of five nearly fully let assets in Berlin, Hamburg, and Frankfurt and comprises of more than 70,000 sqm lettable area*
