Dr. Markus Krüger is a partner in the Corporate Department of the Frankfurt office and co-heads the Financial Institutions Industry Group. He joined the firm in November 2006 from another major international law firm. Markus specializes in complex mergers and acquisitions, with a particular focus on private equity transactions and transactions in the financial industry. He also frequently advises clients in corporate restructurings and general corporate law matters and has significant expertise with bank regulatory and restructuring matters. 

Markus advises clients on both transactional and regulatory matters, including:

  • Prudential supervision and other financial and payment regulation
  • Bank and corporate restructurings and corporate law matters
  • Compliance, regulatory audits, and investigations

Markus maintains long-standing client relationships and provides both keen corporate law insight and extensive financial regulatory knowledge to help clients execute their most intricate transactions. Markus serves on several industry expert groups and frequently writes and speaks on financial regulatory topics. 

Further, he is co-author of a commentary on the German Supervisory Act on Payment Services (ZAG – Kommentar zum Zahlungsdiensteaufsichtsgesetz).
