Carbon Capture, Utilization & Storage 

  • Vault CCS Holdings, a carbon capture and storage developer, in its investment from Grey Rock Investment Partners
  • Chevron U.S.A. in its joint venture with Talos Energy and CarbonVert, to develop the Bayou Bend CCS offshore carbon capture and sequestration hub currently held by Talos and CarbonVert
  • Chevron U.S.A in connection with the deployment and ongoing financing of a ground-breaking bioenergy with carbon capture and sequestration (BECCS) project designed to produce carbon negative power in Mendota, California
  • Occidental Petroleum in relation to a proposed joint-venture to capture, upgrade, and transport CO2 generated from White Energy’s ethanol refineries in Texas, in which some CO2 will be sequestered for EOR at several Occidental wells also located in Texas
  • A multinational energy company on the development of a CCS project in California
  • Canadian private equity-backed midstream infrastructure company in connection with the project development and financing of a carbon capture project in the Midwest intended to qualify for and finance Section 45Q tax credits

  • EIG in its sale of its 49% ownership interest in Elba Liquefaction Company (ELC), a joint venture entity of the Elba Island LNG facility, to Blackstone Credit
  • Global Infrastructure Partners in its preferred equity investment of up to US$245 million in Easton Energy
  • ECP Avolta Holdings, an affiliate of Energy Capital Partners, in its joint venture with Avolta to pursue renewable fuel projects and acquisition of a stake in Nacelle Logistics, a provider of gas conditioning technologies and services
  • Partners Group on its acquisition of a controlling stake in Dimension Renewable Energy, a distributed energy platform focusing on community solar and battery storage across the US
  • ContourGlobal on its acquisition of portfolio of contract operating power plants in the US and Trinidad and Tobago from Western Generation Partners
  • SparkCognition on its acquisition of AIM2, a financial technology company
  • Partners Group on its acquisition of Resilient Infrastructure Group, a water infrastructure platform focused on acquiring, developing, financing and operating distributed water-related facilities in the US and Canada
  • BetBull Limited in its joint venture with the Interactive Assets of Wynn Resorts to create Wynn Interactive, a sports betting and online gaming provider 
  • Sasol in its US$2 billion sale of a 50% stake in Lake Charles Chemical Plant to form a joint venture with LyondellBasell, a multinational chemical company 
  • AIM MHC Holdings in connection with Flagship Communities Real Estate Investment Trust’s initial public offering and acquisition of Flagship Communities
  • Blackstone Energy Partners in its sale of a 42% stake in Cheniere Energy Partners, a company that owns and operates liquid natural gas terminal, to Brookfield Infrastructure Partners
  • Affiliates of Riverstone Holdings in their equity investment in Enviva Holdings, a supplier of wood pellets 
  • Sabine Oil & Gas Corporation in its midstream joint venture with Align Midstream Partners II, LLC and the completion of the TOPS Pipeline
  • Pembina Pipeline in its acquisition of Kinder Morgan Canada, a company that transports petroleum products, and the US portion of the Cochin Pipeline from Kinder Morgan
  • Two wholly owned subsidiaries of each of MPLX LP and Delek US Holdings in their joint venture to consolidate ownership interests in a pipeline joint venture in order to secure financing under a term loan
  • Hess Midstream Partners in its US$6.2 billion acquisition of Hess Infrastructure Partners, a midstream oil and gas company, and conversion into an Up-C organizational structure
  • Quantum Energy Partners in its formation and investment in 547 Energy, which will focus on the acquisition and development of clean energy and renewables (utility-scale, distributed, commercial, residential, etc.) projects and/or companies
  • Deepwater Wind, a US-based offshore wind developer, in its sale to Ørsted, a large Danish wind power company, creating a combined organization that will be able to deliver clean energy to every coastal state in the densely populated East Coast corridor between Massachusetts and Virginia
  • Quantum Energy Partners in its formation and US$500 million investment in Trillium Energy Partners, which will focus on the acquisition and development of midstream solutions across the US, particularly in the Appalachian Basin
  • Five Point Energy LLC, a leading private equity firm focused exclusively on the midstream energy sector, and WaterBridge Resources LLC, in the sale of a minority equity stake in WaterBridge to affiliates of GIC, Singapore's sovereign wealth fund, at a purchase price that implies a WaterBridge enterprise value of approximately US$2.8 billion
  • ArcLight Capital Partners in US$550 million sale of common and preferred equity in portfolio company Limetree Bay Ventures, LLC (LBV) in connection with the restart of LBV’s terminal and refinery in the US Virgin Islands
  • Energy Transfer Partners, LP in its sale of an interest in the Rover pipeline to Blackstone funds for US$1.57 billion
  • Morgan Stanley Infrastructure in its US$1.75 billion acquisition of the operating subsidiaries of Brazos Midstream in the Delaware Basin
  • Quantum Energy Partners in its formation and investment in ConnectGen LLC, its renewable energy company, and its acquisition of non-transmission development assets from Clean Line Energy Partners LLC
  • Quantum Energy Partners of its US$500 million initial investment in PetroLogistics II, LLC, which will focus on acquiring, developing, and operating petrochemical manufacturing, processing, and logistics assets in North America

  • Bayou City Energy in its investment in BCE-Mach, a partnership between Bayou City Energy Management (BCE) and Mach Resources, and related acquisition by BCE-Mach of operated producing properties concentrated in Woods and Alfalfa counties from Chesapeake Energy for US$500 million
  • Minority investment by Blackrock in NextDecade, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) company focused on export projects and associated pipelines in Texas
  • Ingrain, a portfolio company of Outfitter Energy and a provider of rock characterization services, in its sale to Halliburton Energy Services
