Kate Burrell is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Data & Technology Transactions Practice.

Kate advises clients across all market sectors on data protection, privacy, and security matters, particularly in relation to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK data protection regime.

Kate also advises clients in M&A transactions in relation to commercial contracts and intellectual property.

Kate trained in the firm’s London office, gaining experience in tax, acquisition finance, and commercial litigation in addition to data and technology. Kate is an active member of Latham’s Women Lawyers Group.

  • BigBear.ai on its acquisition of Pangiam, a provider of near-field vision AI technology, from a privacy perspective
  • BC Partners on IP, contracts, data protection and regulatory matters related to the sale of Synthon, a multinational generics pharmaceutical business
  • A multinational company in its data breach response strategy in 20+ jurisdictions
  • A digital health provider on data protection implications related to its administration and sale, including the change in data controller
  • The underwriters on privacy aspects in connection with the IPO of Amer Sports, a global group of sports and outdoor brands
  • The underwriters on privacy and IP matters in a bond offering for Viking, a global provider of river, ocean and expedition cruises
