Inès Schapira is an associate at the Paris office of Latham & Watkins. Her practice is centered on complex commercial litigation, white-collar crime, compliance, and commercial lease litigation. She provides assistance and representation to companies, senior executives, investors, and financial institutions in both pre-litigation and litigation scenarios across all courts, including civil, commercial, and criminal courts.

Inès has developed a specialization in the management of high-stakes, cross-border cases with both commercial and criminal and internal investigation aspects, in particular litigation involving discovery proceedings or asset freezing measures.

Inès is actively engaged in various pro bono initiatives and contributes to the firm’s management committees. She has served for several years on the firm’s Pro Bono Committee.

Inès' experience includes representing:

  • A shareholder in a share value dispute following misrepresentation in a buy-out, for which Latham obtained a favorable decision 
  • A former auditor in a criminal investigation for falsification of corporate accounts 
  • An American company within the context of securing pre-trial discovery against a former employee suspected of misappropriating confidential information to the benefit of a competitor
  • A Spanish multinational company within the context of obtaining the limitation of enforcement measures in France and Tunisia subsequent to an arbitral award 
  • A private equity fund targeted by lawsuits for civil fraud before French commercial courts
  • The shareholders of a large-scale European company within the context of an internal investigation for suspicions of breach of trust, corruption, and favoritism
  • A French subsidiary of a US biotech company in a real estate dispute with its landlord in relation with wrongdoings in a highly technical building operation
