Hugh O'Sullivan is Global Vice Chair of the Private Equity Finance Practice. He advises leading financial sponsors, alternative asset managers and their portfolio companies on complex leveraged buyout financings, acquisition financings and refinancings across multiple jurisdictions and all levels of the capital structure, including broadly syndicated financings, unitranche facilities, margin loans and public-to-private transactions. He also regularly acts for major corporates and strategic acquirers on their most significant financing transactions.

Hugh draws on almost two decades of experience advising clients on high-value financing and restructuring transactions. Hugh's key private capital clients include TA Associates, Astorg, EQT, IK Partners, H.I.G. Capital and TowerBrook Capital Partners, among others.

Hugh is ranked as "Highly Regarded" by IFLR1000 (2026).

Hugh trained at another international law firm and spent his early career at Latham & Watkins, during which time he was seconded to Goldman Sachs. Before returning to Latham, he practised with other international law firms.
