Daniel Williams is an associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice in the firm’s Corporate Department.

Mr. Williams advises private equity sponsors, their portfolio companies, and strategic investors in a variety of transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, carve-outs, joint-ventures, and other investments. Mr. Williams is experienced in transactions involving diverse jurisdictions and advises both US and non-US investors in a broad array of industries, including technology, healthcare and life sciences, energy, aerospace, and manufacturing. Mr. Williams also has experience representing underwriters and issuers in capital markets transactions.

As part of his active pro bono practice, Mr. Williams represents veterans in association with the National Veterans Legal Services Program.

  • Energy Capital Partners, along with a consortium of investors, in the pending US$17 billion acquisition of Calpine Corporation, a wholesale power generation company, operating natural gas-fired and geothermal power plants
  • Siemens AG, in its US$4.5 billion acquisition of Mentor Graphics Corporation, a company dealing in electronic design automation
