Private Equity International recognizes Daniel Williams in its annual 40 Under 40 awards.

New York partner Daniel Williams, a member of Latham’s Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Practice, has been named to Private Equity International’s 2025 40 Under 40: Future Leaders of Private Equity list. The honorees, selected by PEI’s editorial board, are up-and-coming private equity professionals from around the globe who stand out for their technical skills, leadership qualities, and sense of innovation. The 40 honorees include a mix of lawyers, investors, dealmakers, fundraisers, and operators, and Dan is one of only seven lawyers named to the 2025 list.

Dan advises private equity sponsors, their portfolio companies, and strategic investors in mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.

In a feature article about his practice, PEI highlighted Dan’s work guiding some of the most high-profile private equity transactions of the last year, including representing Leonard Green & Partners on its US$18.25 billion sale of SRS Distribution to the Home Depot, the fourth-largest US private equity exit ever, as well as guiding Carlyle in its US$3 billion sale of the natural gas power plant portfolio Cogentrix to Quantum Capital.

PEI noted in the article that clients described Dan as “calm and confident” in negotiations with the ability to aptly navigate high-pressure situations.
