Clemens Ganz is an associate in the Frankfurt office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Trial Department. 

Clemens advises international and national companies, focusing on EU and German data protection law. He also advises companies on data protection issues in the context of administrative and court proceedings, as well as M&A transactions. 

Prior to his role as an associate, Clemens worked as a legal trainee at Latham focusing on data protection law and also gained experience at another major law firm in Frankfurt. Clemens gained further valuable experience by focusing on international and European law in the course of his studies.

Clemens’ experience includes:

  • Volkswagen AG on the successful defense against a €4.3 million GDPR fine and in administrative proceedings concerning formal warnings for alleged privacy violations under the GDPR (in connection with an audit by a US Monitor and a US auditor)
  • Triton on data protection matters during the sale together with ADIA and the reinvestment (together with Stonepeak) in IFCO
  • Hg on data protection matters during its:
    • Further investment in P&I
    • Partnership with Scopevisio  
  • Unsere Grüne Glasfaser on data protection matters during the acquisition of Infrafibre Germany
  • TQ Ventures on data protection matters duringon the US$80 million Series C financing of Distribusion
  • Mainova and Dussmann on data protection matters during the sale of Chargemaker
