Latham & Watkins Advises Harbinger Sports Partners on Investment in Las Vegas Athletics

Harbinger Sports Partners, a private investment firm focused on acquiring minority ownership interests in professional sports franchises across the NBA, NFL, MLB, and other major US sports leagues, has bought a minority stake in MLB’s Athletics in anticipation of their move to Las Vegas in 2028.

Latham & Watkins LLP is advising Harbinger Sports Partners in the transaction with an M&A team led by partners Matthew Eisler and Adam Sullins, with associates Andrew Klokiw, Sammy Camy, and Milan Amritraj; and an Investment Funds team led by partners Matthew Chase and Matthew Wynne, with associates Giordano Silvaggi, Andrew Johnson, and Michael Gordon. Advice was also provided on tax matters by partner Michael Milazzo, with associates Ashley Flor and Alice Chen; and on finance matters by partner Nancy Bruington.
