Latham & Watkins Advises Commerz Real on Acquisition of Stake in Amprion

Infrastructure M&A team supports strategic indirect investment in Amprion through M31.

Latham & Watkins LLP has advised Commerz Real on acquiring an indirect stake in the transmission system operator Amprion for its investment fund Klimavest. Klimavest’s stake in M31 Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. Energie KG amounts to approximately 6%, corresponding to an indirect share of about 4.5% in Amprion. Seller of the shares is Ärztliche Beteiligungsgesellschaft S.A., which remains the largest shareholder of M31 even after the sale.

Latham & Watkins has previously advised on several transactions related to M31 and Amprion and possesses extensive experience in the field of power grid transactions.
