The Hollywood Reporter Names Three Century City Partners to “Power Lawyers” List

Latham partners Ken Deutsch, Rick Offsay, and Marvin Putnam have been named 2023 Power Lawyers by The Hollywood Reporter (THR) in the entertainment trade publication’s annual review of attorneys advising on high-profile matters.

Deutsch, Global Co-Chair of Latham’s Entertainment, Sports & Media Practice, was honored as a “go-to expert for financial players, studios, streamers and independent content companies.” Highlighted among his high-profile work is advising longtime client MACRO, the multi-platform media company founded by Charles D. King, in its strategic funding round.

Offsay was recognized for his role in a range of deal work, including advising Mediawan in its majority investment in Brad Pitt’s Plan B, and Skydance Media in its “headline making” US$400 million strategic financing round.

Putnam, Global Co-Chair of Latham’s Entertainment, Sports & Media Industry Group, was spotlighted for his work defending high profile clients in a lawsuit over their endorsements of the crypto exchange FTX. “There’s a need to reassess and relook at what it means to have publicity rights in this age of social media, and how do you protect them,” noted Putnam.
