Oscar Bjartell is an associate in the Data and Technology Transactions Practice of Latham & Watkins’ London office. Mr. Bjartell advises clients on global data privacy, commercial contracts, intellectual property licensing, and technology matters. 

Mr. Bjartell’s client base covers international clients from a broad range of sectors, including information technology, private equity, and healthcare and life sciences.

Mr. Bjartell trained in the firm’s London office, gaining experience in acquisition and leveraged finance and complex commercial litigation, in addition to the Technology Transactions Practice. Mr. Bjartell also spent time on international secondment to Latham & Watkins’ Singapore office where he advised regional clients on GDPR compliance and outsourcing matters.

Mr. Bjartell’s experience includes advising:

  • A pharmaceutical company on supply arrangements relating to a global strategic partnership for the development and commercialization of oncology products  
  • A publicly listed China-headquartered technology and internet group on global data privacy compliance for cross-border products, including products across the gaming and social media space
  • A Swedish biopharmaceutical company on its strategic licensing agreements and collaborations
  • A UK-headquartered travel company on its commercial contracts in the reorganization of its airline tour operators 
  • A leading global accountancy and consultancy firm on its global privacy impact assessment (PIA) process to minimize privacy and security risks, and achieve compliance with global information laws for new systems and tools 
  • An international pharmaceutical company on its Brexit preparations and data practices 
  • An international charity on pro bono matters, assisting with protection of its intellectual property and compliance with data protection laws
