Latham Advises Duolingo on Acquisition of NextBeat Team
Latham & Watkins has advised Duolingo, the world’s leading mobile learning platform, on its acquisition of the team behind NextBeat, a London-based music gaming startup known for blending world-class music licensing with engaging mobile gameplay.
As a result of the acquisition, Duolingo is investing in making its Music course as fun and joyful as the best mobile games in the market. The transaction also establishes Duolingo’s first official presence in the UK.
The Latham team was led by London corporate partner Robbie McLaren, with associates Devdeep Ghosh and Sam Cadd.
