The office is also a proud supporter of the IE University's Scholarship for Entrepreneurial Lawyering, which directs an annual scholarship to students accepted into IE University’s Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program who demonstrate outstanding academic qualifications and entrepreneurial extra-curricular involvement.

Latham ranks first in the provision of pro bono services in Spain, according to the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s third annual TrustLaw Index of Pro Bono. The 2016 index was “compiled with data collected from over 130 law firms—both large and small—and representing 64,500 lawyers in 75 countries, [and it] provides a snapshot of the resources mobilised by the industry in support of social causes, while also monitoring the growth of the sector globally.”

In addition, each year the Madrid office’s Latham & Watkins Runners Club invites clients and friends of the firm to join them in the Carrera de la Ciencia, a 10-kilometer race that takes place in Madrid every fall to raise funds for Fundación Deporte y Desafío, a private, non-profit organization whose primary objective is the social integration of physically, mentally, visually, or hearing-challenged people through specially adapted sports and outdoor activities.
