Zhijin Liu is an associate in the Brussels office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Global Antitrust & Competition Practice.

Zhijin advises clients on all aspects of EU competition law and various EU regulatory issues including Foreign Subsidies Regulation. She represents clients before the European Commission (EC).

Her experience covers several industry sectors including technology, healthcare and life sciences, and telecommunications. 

Prior to joining Latham, Zhijin worked at law firms in Paris. 

Zhijin’s experience includes representing:

  • Global companies in a variety of sectors on the implementation of the EU Regulation on Foreign Subsidies, including representing Nuctech, a Chinese security equipment supplier, on the first inspection launched under the FSR
  • GRAIL in the EC’s review of its acquisition by Illumina, involving the EC’s referral power under Article 22 of EU Merger Regulation and related litigation before the Court of Justice
  • Orange in the EC’s review of the creation of a joint venture with MásMóvil valued at €18.6 billion
  • A global technology company on its compliance with the EC’s Digital Markets Act and Digital Services Act
  • Platinum Equity in the antitrust review of its acquisition of GSM Outdoors
