Timothy draws on two decades’ experience as a trusted advisor and pragmatic problem-solver to guide private equity sponsors, major corporate borrowers, and private capital lenders across the entire credit cycle on:

He closely collaborates with clients and colleagues to unlock the resources of Latham’s robust global platform, devising creative solutions that help clients achieve their commercial objectives.

A recognized leader at the firm, Timothy is former Local Chair of the Finance Department in Asia and has served on the Diversity Leadership Committee, Associates Committee, and Pro Bono Committee.

Timothy prioritizes giving back to the community. He currently serves as the Chairman of Youth Guidance Outreach Services, a social services organization benefitting youth at risk in Singapore, and as Vice-Chair of The Helping Hand, a halfway house assisting people with substance use disorder. He maintains an active pro bono practice, including advising Standard Microgrid, whose mission is to provide clean, modern, and affordable energy services to poor rural communities in Africa.

    • The US$375 million financing for Adani Total Gas Limited, India’s leading City Gas Distribution (CGD) company — the largest global financing in the CGD business
    • The US$4.5 billion financing to acquire Ambuja Cements and ACC, two of India’s leading cement companies, and subsequent US$3.5 billion refinancing. This transaction was awarded Best of South Asia Deal at the FinanceAsia Achievement Awards 2022 and M&A Deal of the Year 2022 by India Business Law Journal
    • A US$1.35 billion debt package for a 1.69GW under-construction hybrid portfolio of solar and wind renewable projects in Rajasthan, India
  • Pentagreen Capital on its inaugural lending transaction into the Philippines, featuring an up to US$100 million term-loan facility for Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation to finance the development of a slate of greenfield solar power projects
  • Bayfront Infrastructure Management on its US$410.3 million issuance of infrastructure asset-backed securities through Bayfront Infrastructure Capital IV Pte. Ltd. This transaction was awarded “Best Infrastructure Deal,” “Best Project Finance Deal,” and “Best Sustainable Finance Deal of the Year,” both for Asia and the Singapore market at the FinanceAsia Achievement Awards 2023
  • Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board on the financing for its inaugural investment into India – the acquisition of Sahyadri Hospitals Group, an India-based private hospital chain
  • Oravel Stays Pte Ltd, a leading Indian hotel management technology group, on a US$600 million Term Loan B debt financing, making Oravel Stays the first Indian startup to raise capital using a Term Loan B instrument and to receive public ratings from Moody’s and Fitch
  • Ola, India’s largest mobility platform and one of the world’s largest ride-hailing companies, on its inaugural US$500 million Term Loan B (TLB) debt financing
  • Loka Holdings, an Indonesian-based online travel company, on a US$300 million term-loan facility from a syndicate of leading private capital lenders

  • Clifford Capital, as sponsor, manager, and subordinated note investor, on the first infrastructure project finance securitization in Asia, in which the US$458 million issuance included four classes of notes issued by Bayfront Infrastructure Capital and three classes of investment grade rated notes (Class A, B, and C Notes) listed on the SGX-ST and was awarded the Asia-Pacific Bond Deal of the Year and Asian-mena Deal of the Year in 2018, and Structured Finance and Securitisation Deal of the Year in 2019 at the IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards
  • A syndicate of banks on a US$400 million term-loan facility, concurrent with a US$1 billion bond offering, for Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited, a provider of energy solutions
