Patrick McDonald is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Banking & Private Credit Practice.

Patrick advises sponsors, corporate borrowers, financial institutions, and private credit funds across a broad range of finance transactions, including complex cross-border acquisition and leveraged financings, unitranche financings, PIK and Holdco financings, and other secured lending transactions.

Patrick’s experience includes advising:

  • Astorg, Cinven, and their portfolio company LGC Group on the repricing of LGC’s €1.08 billion TLB
  • Energy Capital Partners and its portfolio company Biffa Limited, the UK’s leading integrated waste and recycling firm, on the refinancing of Biffa’s existing credit facilities
  • Epiris LLP on its debt financing package in connection with the sale of a minority interest in Pure Cremation, a leading funeral services provider in the UK, to Centerbridge Partners
  • Permira and its portfolio company CABB, a leading fine chemistry manufacturer with global operations, on a super senior revolving credit facility to support CABB’s €625 million senior secured notes offering
  • TA Associates and its portfolio company Fairstone Group, a leading UK financial services business, on the refinancing of Fairstone’s existing credit facilities
  • L Catterton on the financing for its investment in Dishoom, a renowned restaurant brand in the UK
  • The lead arrangers and underwriters on the senior financing in connection with H.I.G Capital’s acquisition of Kantar Media, an international media and advertising research business
  • The lead arrangers on a c. 4 billion USD and Euro senior and PIK debt package to support KKR’s acquisition of the AVIV and Stepstone groups from Axel Springer SE
  • A group of 22 mandated lead arrangers and underwrites on the 8.65 billion USD and Euro senior secured credit facilities and senior secured notes for CD&R’s acquisition of a 50% stake in Opella, the consumer health division of Sanofi
  • The lead arrangers in connection with the super senior revolving credit facilities to Itelyum Regeneration S.p.A., a European leader in the production of regenerated lubricant bases, to support its issue of €725 million senior secured notes issuance
  • TA Associates on the NZD financing of its investment in Craigs Investment Partners, a New Zealand wealth management firm
