Dr. Marcel Stefan Endrich is an associate in Latham & Watkins’ Frankfurt office and a member of the Restructuring & Special Situations Practice. 

Mr. Endrich advises German and international creditors, investors, companies, management, shareholders, and insolvency administrators in connection with:

  • Financial restructurings (in-court and out-of-court)
  • Domestic and cross-border financing matters
  • Operational corporate restructurings
  • Acquisition of distressed companies, restructuring, rescue financing, or refinancing transactions

He studied law at the University of Frankfurt, focusing on corporate and insolvency law. Subsequently, he worked for two years as a research assistant in the banking/restructuring department of an international law firm and obtained his doctorate from the University of Marburg with a thesis relating to corporate law.

During his legal clerkship, Mr. Endrich completed parts of his practical legal training at a corporate law firm in the banking/restructuring department and at a tax authority of the Federal State of Hesse.

Dr. Endrich’s recent experience includes advising:

  • ACCENTRO Real Estate on the comprehensive refinancing of two bonds in a procedure under the German Bond Act (Schuldverschreibungsgesetz)
  • Ad- hoc Group of Senior Lenders in relation to an amend & extend of the financing for ARVOS
  • Löwen Play / Safari Holding Verwaltungs GmbH on the financial restructuring and recapitalization, which involved the first UK scheme of arrangement for a German issuer post-Brexit
  • The bank consortium of STEAG’s parent company on restructuring the group with a view toward coal’s phase-out
  • SGB-SMIT GmbH in connection with the amendment and extension of its existing loans under a UK Restructuring Plan
