James Szauer is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the Banking & Private Credit Practice.

James’ practice includes advising sponsors, corporate borrowers, banks, and other financial institutions across a broad range of finance transactions, including complex cross-border acquisition and leveraged financings, bridge financings, refinancings, and other secured lending transactions.

James’ experience includes advising: 

  • CVC and its portfolio company Domestic & General, a leading provider of subscription-based insurance and non-insurance protection products for household appliances, consumer electronics, heating, and related products, on a syndicated €545 million term loan B, £165 million multi-currency revolving credit facility, and a £350 million senior secured notes offering to refinance existing senior secured indebtedness
  • The financing sources in connection with L. Catterton’s €1.4 billion acquisition of KIKO*
  • The financing sources in connection with HomeServe EMEA’s £325 million and €460 million term debt facilities and a £150 million revolving credit facility in order to fully refinance existing indebtedness*
  • The financing sources in connection with the financing for Carlyle’s acquisition of AutoForm Engineering GmbH from global private equity firm Astorg*
