Dr. Ivo Veit J. Wanwitz is an associate in the Corporate Department of Latham’s Hamburg office.

Ivo advises German and international strategic and private equity investors on national and cross-border transactions with a particular focus on preferred and structured equity transactions, joint ventures, and other M&A matters, including at the intersection of corporate finance. He also advises on general corporate law matters.

He has extensive experience working with clients from a wide range of industries. His work has a particular focus on real estate as well as asset-heavy energy and infrastructure investments, including transactions and project developments. His experience covers a wide variety of real estate asset classes as well as digital infrastructure, renewable energies, hydrogen, and gas.

He is admitted to practice law in Germany (as Rechtsanwalt) and in California. Prior to joining the firm as an associate, Ivo worked as a law clerk and as a trainee lawyer in Latham’s Finance and Corporate Departments in Hamburg and Los Angeles.

Ivo has been named as one of the “Best Lawyers – Ones to Watch” for corporate law since 2024 and for mergers and acquisitions in 2025 by Best Lawyers and Handelsblatt.
