Isabelle Brams

Dr. Isabelle Brams represents clients on a wide range of EU data law matters, specifically at the intersection of complex data defense work and artificial intelligence (AI).

Isabelle leverages a sophisticated understanding of the evolving EU data law landscape to advise German and international clients on matters relating to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act) and other EU Digital Acts, including:

• Administrative and fine proceedings related to EU data law, including defense in court and negotiations with authorities
• Defending against civil law claims in connection with data violations, including advising on mass litigation projects
• Introducing new digital products and processes in the EU
• Response to cybersecurity incidents, whether global or limited to individual jurisdictions or areas.
• Employee data privacy, including conducting internal investigations

She advises on how to reconcile the divergent and partly conflicting requirements of the various EU Digital Acts, including regarding data minimization and data security.

Isabelle has gained valuable practical experience on data law compliance during an in-house supporting role for a US client.

Isabelle holds a PhD in labor law and has contributed to numerous publications on the GDPR and the EU AI Act. She is regularly cited by various German courts, including the Federal Administrative Court and the Federal Labor Court.
