Edward Tang is a member of the Corporate Department and the Private Equity Practice and the Mergers and Acquisition Practice.

His practice focuses on a range of corporate matters, including advising private equity funds and corporations on mergers and acquisitions transactions and capital market offerings.

Edward’s representative experience includes advising:

  • Apollo-managed funds and affiliates on its US$1.6 billion investment into a joint venture with Keppel Ltd.’s (Keppel) Keppel Offshore Fund, LP, that will hold a portfolio of offshore energy assets. The transaction is rated investment grade and represents one of the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, reflecting growing global demand for innovative private capital solutions 
  • Apollo Global Management and Tega Industries consortium on the acquisition of Molycop, an Australia-based global supplier of grinding media for the mining industry
  • Princeton Digital Group, one of Asia Pacific’s leading data center operators, on the preferred equity investment from Stonepeak. This transaction was awarded PE/VC Deal of the Year by China Business Law Journal’s Deals of the Year Awards 2025, and Best Infrastructure Deal: Singapore at the FinanceAsia Achievement Awards 2025  
  • Global Network, Inc. (GNI) on a joint venture between Miescor Infrastructure Development Corporation and Phil-Tower Consortium
  • Warburg Pincus, KKR, GIC, and others, as investors and shareholders, in its US$550 million Series D, US$1.5 billion Series E, and US$1 billion Series F fundraises by Go-Jek, a leading Southeast Asia on-demand mobile platform and subsequent merger of Go-Jek with Tokopedia, forming GoTo Group, Southeast Asia’s largest technology group. Awarded M&A Deal of the Year (Premium) by ALB SE Asia Law Awards 2022
  • Warburg Pincus, as investor, in fundraises by Circles.Life, an Asian digital telecommunications provider
  • Warburg Pincus, as investor, in its US$400 million Series D fundraise and subsequent US$80 million fundraise by Advance Intelligence Group, an AI-driven technology platform
  • Warburg Pincus, as investor, in its US$300 million joint venture, creating Lodgis, a fully integrated Southeast Asia hospitality real estate developer and operator
  • Warburg Pincus, as investor, in its US$250 million investment in Novaland, a leading Vietnam residential real estate developer and operator, and subsequent restructuring
  • A sovereign wealth fund, as lead investor, in its US$1.2 billion Series A fundraise by payments platform
  • GIC, as investor, in its US$160 million investment in Sunway Healthcare Tybourne Capital, as lead investor, in US$96 million Series C fundraise by Kopi Kenangan, a Southeast Asia food and beverage developer and operator
  • Ruangguru, a Southeast Asia education technology and content developer, as issuer, in a US$150 Series C investment led by General Atlantic
  • Warburg Pincus, as selling shareholder, and ESR, a leading Asian logistics real estate developer and operator, as issuer, in the US$1.6 billion IPO on HKEX, Hong Kong’s second largest IPO in 2019
  • Warburg Pincus, as selling shareholder, and Vincom Retail, Vietnam’s largest retail real estate developer and operator, as issuer, in the US$740 million IPO on Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, Vietnam’s largest ever IPO at the time
  • Vinhomes, Vietnam’s largest residential real estate developer and operator, as issuer, in the US$1.35 billion IPO on Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, Vietnam’s largest ever IPO at the time, and in US$1.3 billion investment by GIC and in US$650 million investment led by KKR. Awarded M&A Deal of the Year (Midsize) by ALB SE Asia Law Awards 2021
  • Vingroup, Vietnam’s largest conglomerate, on its US$255 million private credit financing for Vinpearl, its hospitality arm
  • Vingroup in the merger of VinCommerce, a leading Vietnam retail operator, with Masan, a leading Vietnamese conglomerate, creating Vietnam’s largest retail operator
  • Vingroup, as seller, and VinCommerce, as issuer, in a US$500 million investment led by GIC
  • Vingroup, as issuer, in a US$1.0 billion investment by SK Group, a leading Korean conglomerate and in US$400 million investment by Hanwha Group, a leading Korean conglomerate
