Dr. Christoph P. von Laufenberg is an associate in the Munich office of Latham & Watkins. He practices in the Litigation & Trial Department and is a member of the firm’s White Collar Defense & Investigations Practice.

Mr. von Laufenberg advises clients on national and international arbitration proceedings and litigation before German courts, including mass actions, healthcare-related disputes, bank-related disputes, and complex commercial litigation. He represents national and international companies, as well as private individuals.

Furthermore, Mr. von Laufenberg assists companies on various compliance related matters. e.g., by conducting internal investigations, implementing and developing compliance management systems and risk mitigation measures, as well as conducting compliance due diligences in connection with M&A transactions or as standalone projects.

He regularly authors articles regarding antitrust, compliance, white collar, and enforcement issues, particularly with reference to US law most recently “DOJ will Chief Compliance Officer stärken – SEC schlägt neue Vorschriften zum „Greenwashing“ vor” (CCZ, Corporate Compliance Zeitschrift, August 2022). 

Prior to joining Latham as an associate, Mr. von Laufenberg worked as a research assistant at the University of Passau and as a visiting researcher at the University of Oxford. He received his doctorate with a thesis on “Antitrust Group Liability”. Before and during his legal clerkship, he worked long-term in renowned international law firms in the field of antitrust law and corporate governance.
