Carmen Alonso is an associate in the Corporate Department of Latham & Watkins' Madrid office. She advises national and international companies from a wide range of industries on general corporate matters, cross-border mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures, among others. She has also assists companies on restructuring processes and corporate finance transactions.

  • Promotora de Informaciones, S.A. and several companies of the Prisa Group on the refinancing and amendment of its syndicated financial debt 
  • An ad hoc group of noteholders of Haya Real Estate on the restructuring of its financial structure and corporate reorganization
  • An ad hoc group of lenders in the refinancing of the indebtedness of Spanish group Mediapro 
  • CVC in its €2 billion strategic investment in LaLiga to set in motion LaLiga Impulso, a project to boost the global growth of LaLiga and its clubs
  • The creditors committee in relation to the comprehensive restructuring of Swissport, including a €1.9 billion debt-for-equity swap and a new €500 million long-term debt facility
  • The Ad Hoc Group of bondholders in the restructuring of the balance sheet of Naviera Armas
  • KKR in the restructuring and exit financing of Grupo Gallardo 
  • The lenders in relation to the restructuring of Deoleo, a Spanish headquartered and global olive oil production and distribution business
  • Partners Group in the creation of the joint venture Aristeas Logística, a Spain-based platform for investment in logistic real estate assets.
  • Eurona on the restructuring of its debt using judicial approval (homologación) 
  • Sun Capital in the sale of Elix Polymers, a Spanish plastic producer, to Sinochem
  • Portobello in the sale of Multiasistencia, a Spanish specialist in the management and repair of claims for homes, businesses, and communities for insurance companies 
  • IFM Investors in the acquisition of OHL Concessions for €2.8 billion Lovell Minnick Partners in an equity investment and debt financing to Trea Asset Management, in the context of the acquisition of Banco Madrid Gestión
