Andres advises banks, institutional investors, development finance institutions, sponsors, and corporates in a variety of financings and other transactional matters in Latin America, including project finance, syndicated debt, debt restructuring, and debt issuances.

Andres’ experience includes advising:

  • Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) and Atlas Renewable Energy, on the approximately US$3 billion refinancing of Atlas’ Latin American renewable energy platform
  • Almar Water Solutions and Transelec, as project sponsors and operators, on the approximately US$1.5 billion acquisition, construction, and senior and subordinated project bond and loan financing of dual seawater impulsion systems for the Minera Centinela and Minera Antucoya mining operations (Project Finance Loan Deal of the Year by Global Banking & Markets; Natural Resources Finance Deal of the Year by Global Banking & Markets)
  • Apollo in its US$600 million partnership with Vale to acquire a 50% interest in the operator of a maritime terminal in Oman
  • NEXTDecade, a leading LNG liquefaction and export company, on multiple super subordinated financing deals in connection with the Rio Grande LNG Project
  • Ares on the formation and senior and back-leverage financing of a solar energy joint venture with Savion
  • Goldman Sachs and Prudential in connection with Fibra EXI financings, including a MXN 5.1 billion senior secured term loan facility supporting Fibra EXI’s acquisition of a majority interest in a Mexican toll road concession operator and a MXN 2.8 billion debt private placement
  • Mizuho and Banistmo on the inaugural securitization and 144A/Reg S US$1.4 billion zero coupon second tranche of the milestone-based receivables financing for the construction of the fourth bridge over the Panama Canal (Infrastructure Financing of the Year: Central America by LatinFinance)
  • Goldman Sachs and Banorte on the MXN 6.4 billion refinancing of the Viaducto Elevado Bicentenario toll road project in Mexico
  • An affiliate of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) in connection with a US$580 million private placement financing, including senior secured notes and a letter of credit facility, for its joint venture renewable energy portfolio in Chile
  • Natixis and BNP Paribas on a US$250 million revolving financing to establish BlackRock’s 400MW+ PMGD Platform in Chile, which is expected to be the largest in the Chilean market
  • The noteholders in the initial USPP take-out of loans under BlackRock’s warehouse facility, as well as Natixis and BNP Paribas facility providers as part of the note financing structure
  • BlackRock on US$75 million 4(a)(2) private placement delayed draw notes for a portfolio of utility-scale and distributed generation solar projects developed by Solek in Chile
  • Golar LNG on its joint venture with Pan American Energy and the negotiation of project and commercial contracts to monetize Vaca Muerta shale gas through a floating LNG facility in Argentina
  • Telefónica Hispanoamérica on sale of stake in fiber optic company in Peru and related financing matters
