Alessia Varieschi is an associate in the Brussels office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Global Antitrust & Competition Practice.

Alessia advises clients on all aspects of EU competition law and represents them before the European Commission and the Italian Competition Authority. 

Her experience covers advising international companies on EU competition law and foreign direct investment matters in a broad range of sectors, including aerospace, banking, and life sciences.

Prior to joining Latham, Alessia worked as a competition lawyer in leading law firms, both in Brussels and in Italy.

  • Korean Air in merger control proceedings regarding the acquisition of Asiana Airlines*
  • Danaher in merger control proceedings regarding the acquisition of General Electric’s Biopharma business*
  • Intesa Sanpaolo RBM Salute in an investigation for unfair trading practice by the Italian Competition Authority*
