Aaron Amundson, former director of the Bureau of Industry & Security’s (BIS) Information Technology Controls Division, advises clients on a full spectrum of US export control matters.

Aaron regularly advises clients on Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and related technical issues, as well as on commodity classifications, licensing, and CFIUS applications, all of which he dealt with directly during his tenure at BIS. He combines deep legal, technical, and regulatory acumen to guide global innovators and emerging startups through rapidly changing policy environments.

A recognized thought leader, particularly on Category 5 Part 2 of the Commerce Control List (CCL), Aaron speaks frequently at seminars and conferences on a range of export control topics. He also represented the US in bilateral and multilateral export control groups and trained foreign governments on export controls as part of the US State Department’s EXBS program.
