Two San Diego Partners Named “Women of Influence in Law 2021”

Colleen Smith and Jen Barry recognized by the San Diego Business Journal as leading lawyers in the region.

San Diego partners Colleen Smith and Jen Barry have been named Women of Influence in Law 2021 by the San Diego Business Journal, recognizing female trailblazing lawyers in the San Diego area.

Smith – the Local Chair of Latham’s San Diego Litigation & Trial Department – has been selected for her representation of a wide variety of public companies and their officers and directors in securities and other complex litigation, including her recent work for Lyft, Inc. as well as her successful representation of numerous local life sciences companies. She was also recognized for her service as a mentor and leader to other lawyers though her role as a member of the firm’s Diversity Leadership Committee and as Global Vice-Chair of the Training and Career Enhancement Committee.

Barry – a member of the firm‘s Litigation & Trial Department and Deputy Managing Partner of the San Diego office – was honored for her vibrant litigation practice that has broad reach and impact in southern California and nationally. She was commended for how she continually demonstrates her leadership abilities in her current roles as Deputy Office Managing Partner of Latham's San Diego office and as Global Vice Chair of the firm's Intellectual Property Litigation Practice and recognized for her recent work that includes representation of Peloton, in an action in front of the US Patent and Trademark Office.

This is the second year in a row Barry has been named an “Influential Woman” in San Diego having been selected in 2020 by The Daily Transcript, and the second time Smith has been honored having previously been recognized by The Daily Transcript in 2019.
