Latham & Watkins Advises Focused Energy on US$240 Million Series A Financing
Latham & Watkins LLP has advised German-American laser fusion company Focused Energy on its US$240 million Series A financing. The financing round is the largest Series A financing in the global fusion industry to date. Investors include RWE, the Federal Agency for Breakthrough Innovation SPRIND, the European Innovation Council Fund, and existing investor Prime Movers Lab. This fundraise will assist Focused Energy in its goal to transfer fusion technology from research into industrial application in Germany and to build the world’s first laser fusion power plant in Biblis, together with scientific and industry partners, by the mid-2030s.
