American College of Trial Lawyers Inducts Partner Jake Ryan
Latham & Watkins LLP is pleased to announce that Jake Ryan, Regional Chair of the Litigation & Trial Department in Southern California and former Global Co-Chair of the Complex Commercial Litigation Practice, was recently inducted into the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers (the College). The College is composed of preeminent members of the trial bar from the United States and Canada and is recognized as the leading trial lawyers organization. A limited number of nominees who have demonstrated “the very highest standards of trial advocacy, ethical conduct, integrity, professionalism and collegiality” are invited to join the College. Jake’s induction into the College further solidifies his reputation as among the nation’s most formidable trial lawyers.
Jake has tried 30 jury trials to verdict in federal and state courts across the United States. He has a diverse complex commercial litigation practice and has successfully represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of contract, tort, white collar, antitrust, securities, and patent litigation matters. Before joining Latham, Jake served as a pilot in the United States Navy and as an Assistant United States Attorney in Chicago.
College Fellowship is extended by invitation only and after careful investigation to those experienced trial lawyers of diverse backgrounds who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility, and collegiality. Membership in the College cannot exceed 1% of the total lawyer population of any state or province, and lawyers must have a minimum of 15 years trial experience before they can be considered.
Latham’s Litigation & Trial Department is home to several American College of Trial Lawyers Fellows, including Sean Berkowitz, David Marriott, Joe Serino, and Jamie Wine.
