Accomplished ITC Lawyer Joins Latham & Watkins in Washington, D.C.
Latham & Watkins LLP is pleased to announce that Lisa Kattan has joined the firm's Washington, D.C. office as a partner in the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice and as a Co-Chair of the International Trade Commission (ITC) Practice. A leading ITC lawyer, Kattan advises technology and life sciences companies in Section 337 investigations and related patent disputes, drawing on extensive private practice and government experience.
“Lisa is a trusted adviser and exceptional advocate. Her judgment, technical fluency, and deep familiarity with the ITC are exactly what clients navigating high-stakes investigations need,” said Mandy Reeves, Managing Partner of Latham’s Washington, D.C. office. “Her arrival adds further depth to our litigation capabilities in Washington and reflects our continued investment in the market.”
Kattan represents clients in Section 337 investigations before the ITC and in related district court, appellate, US Customs, and Patent Trial and Appeal Board proceedings. Her matters span semiconductors, telecommunications, video streaming, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. Earlier in her career, she spent five years at the ITC, serving as lead trial counsel for the US government in high-profile patent infringement investigations as Senior Investigative Attorney in the Office of Unfair Import Investigations.
“Lisa is a formidable trial lawyer with a sophisticated command of Section 337 investigations,” said Kevin Wheeler, Global Chair of Latham’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice. “Our ITC team has won three trials in the past two years. Lisa makes us even stronger, enhancing the support we provide to clients.”
Kattan’s arrival continues the strategic expansion of Latham’s IP Litigation Practice, which has added five distinguished trial lawyers in the past year, including Ahmed ElDessouki, Kieran Kieckhefer, David Shaw, and Adam Greenfield.
“Latham offers an unmatched combination of ITC and patent capabilities, a genuinely integrated global platform, and a culture built around client service,” said Kattan. “I look forward to partnering with colleagues across the firm to help clients navigate high-stakes ITC investigations and the patent disputes that often accompany them.”
Kattan joins Latham from Baker Botts LLP. She received her JD from Northwestern University School of Law, her MS from the University of Minnesota, and her BA from the University of South Dakota.
