Firm’s interdisciplinary Shareholder Activism & Takeover Defense Practice ranks second among all firms for defending public companies against shareholder activism campaigns.
Latham & Watkins has again been recognized in Bloomberg’s year-end 2025 league tables as a top law firm for defending public companies against shareholder activism campaigns.
Bloomberg ranked Latham as the #2 firm in the US and globally and the #1 firm in Europe based on the total number of activism defense engagements. Additionally, Latham is ranked as the #1 company defense advisor in both the real estate and healthcare sectors.
In 2025, Latham advised on 31 public activist engagements with activist shareholder stakes totaling US$3.7 billion — up from 20 public campaigns and US$2.7 billion in 2024.
