Latham & Watkins Advises Blackstone on Potential Development of Major Data Center Campus in Germany
Latham & Watkins LLP has advised funds managed by Blackstone on the signing of a conditional purchase agreement with Industriegebiet Westfalen GmbH, a joint venture between the municipalities of Lippetal and Hamm, on a 27-hectare site in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The conditional acquisition agreement establishes the framework for the potential development of a large-scale data center campus in the municipality of Lippetal. Formal planning processes are expected to be initiated promptly. Blackstone is working alongside its partner company, the data center specialist Quality Technology Services (QTS) on the project.
The Latham team was led by Frankfurt/Munich private equity real estate partner Carsten Loll and Frankfurt infrastructure M&A partner Alexander Stefan Rieger, with associates Sebastian von Hornung, Marie-Christine Welp, Henriette Hosemann, and Johannes Groß.
