Experienced M&A Partner To Join Latham & Watkins in the Middle East

Based in Latham’s cooperating law firm in Riyadh, Ahmed el-Gaili brings significant expertise in big ticket M&A as well as large scale energy projects in Saudi Arabia and across the region.

Latham & Watkins is pleased to announce that Ahmed T. el-Gaili will join the firm as a partner in the Corporate Department and member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. el-Gaili will be based in Latham’s cooperating law firm in Riyadh, the Law Office of Salman M. Al-Sudairi. His practice focuses on representing companies, sovereign wealth funds, private equity firms, and other investors on a variety of complex public and private mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, divestments, and reorganizations across the Middle East. He has extensive knowledge of the region, and has worked in the Middle East for more than a decade.

A recognized leader in his field, el-Gaili also represents governments and other stakeholders on large-scale energy projects and energy legislation, with a particular focus on oil and gas transactions, and he regularly counsels companies and investors on complex transactions in the telecoms and financial services industries.

el-Gaili joins Latham & Watkins from Vinson & Elkins. He received a BA, magna cum laude, from Harvard College in 1998 and a JD, cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 2003.
