Latham Partners Honored for Leadership in Los Angeles
Latham & Watkins partners Manny Abascal and Steve Stokdyk have been recognized for leadership in the law and the local community by the Los Angeles Business Journal in its annual “Leaders in Law” feature. According to the publication, the honored lawyers are “singled out for exceptional legal skill and achievement across the full spectrum of responsibility, exemplary leadership as evidenced by the highest professional and ethical standards, and for contributions to the Los Angeles community at large.”
Abascal was named Healthcare Attorney of the Year, with the LA Business Journal praising work across business sectors that showcases his “broad practice that includes criminal and civil investigations, activist shareholder litigation, and complex business litigation.” In addition to his recent work on behalf of industry-leading clients, Abascal was also cited for his distinguished career as a law firm litigator and federal prosecutor, as well as for his community service. “He is highly respected for his practice work, pro bono efforts, support for the professional advancement of Latinos, and dedication to helping the Los Angeles community in a multitude of ways,” the LA Business Journal reported.
Stokdyk was honored as a finalist for Corporate Attorney of the Year based on his reputation as “a leading corporate attorney with extensive securities, finance, acquisition and governance experience representing companies, principal investors and investment banks in a variety of industries,” according to the LA Business Journal.
