The National Law Journal (NLJ) has named New York partner Kirk Davenport, San Diego partner Christopher Garrett and Los Angeles partner Robert Wyman to its inaugural “Energy and Environmental Trailblazers” list, which features “some of the great minds impacting the crucial intersection of energy production and the environment.”

Davenport, who is a member of the firm’s Corporate Department and co-chair of the National Office, was recognized for having pioneered the use of a “yieldco,” an investment vehicle that leverages the ever-increasing demand for clean energy investment opportunities.

Garrett, a global chair of the Energy & Infrastructure Project Siting & Defense practice, was acknowledged for his work on the regulatory and litigation aspects of approvals to build the Carlsbad Desalination Project in San Diego, which will be the largest ocean water desalination facility in the Western Hemisphere when construction is completed in 2016.

Wyman, a global chair of the firm’s Environment, Land & Resources Department and its Air Quality & Climate Change practice, was noted for “getting environmental market projects adopted.” He advises clients on Clean Air Act emissions trading and has designed several innovative, market-based programs including the South Coast Regional Clean Air Incentives Market.
