Four Partners Named "Rising Stars" by Law360

Corporate, environmental and litigation lawyers are recognized for the breadth and scope of Latham's practice.

Law360 has named four Latham & Watkins partners among its 2013 “Rising Stars” in coverage that highlights lawyers under the age of 40 have excelled in their respective practice areas. The honorees include corporate partner David Brown in Washington, D.C. and litigators Arthur Foerster in Chicago, Brian Glennon in Los Angeles and John Wilson in San Diego.

Brown was named in the Private Equity category. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions, and he regularly represents private equity sponsors and public and private companies in a broad range of industries on complex M&A transactions, including public mergers, leveraged acquisitions, divestitures of divisions and product lines, going-private transactions, tender offers, proxy contests and other strategic acquisitions, investments and divestitures.

Foerster’s practice focuses on environmental law and litigation at both the trial and appellate level. He was recognized in the Product Liability category, as his experience includes litigating matters involving product liability, insurance coverage, industrial accidents and complex business contract and tort disputes. Foerster also litigates environmental matters involving toxic torts, The Clean Air Act, contaminated sites, citizen suits and other federal/state environmental statutes and regulations.

Glennon’s primary areas of expertise are securities and professional liability litigation and white collar criminal defense. He has prosecuted and defended numerous lawsuits in state and federal court at both the trial and appellate levels, and he represents public companies, directors and officers, and accounting / professional services firms in securities fraud class actions, shareholder derivative lawsuits, SEC enforcement actions and DOJ investigations. He was honored in the Securities category.

Wilson was named in the Insurance category. His practice focuses on insurance, environmental and general business litigation, with a breadth of expertise that spans a variety of coverage issues involving first- and third-party insurance, including commercial general liability, directors' and officers' liability, errors and omissions, and political risk policies, as well as insurance bad faith claims.
