Arthur Foerster is a partner in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins. Mr. Foerster’s practice focuses on environmental law and litigation at both the trial and appellate level. In particular, Mr. Foerster is experienced in litigating environmental matters involving toxic torts, The Clean Air Act, contaminated sites, citizen suits, and other federal/state environmental statutes and regulations. His experience also includes litigating matters involving product liability, insurance coverage, industrial accidents, and complex business contract and tort disputes. He also has substantial experience in environmental enforcement defense, permitting, and transactional counseling.

Mr. Foerster is particularly experienced in litigating environmental matters involving complex industrial processes and practices, complex issues of causation and damages, and complex expert testimony. For example, Mr. Foerster represents manufacturing, energy, and other clients in the defense of multi-plaintiff toxic tort actions involving chemicals, such as PCBs, pesticides, solvents, and petroleum products, alleged to have adversely affected thousands of persons via multiple exposure pathways. He routinely works with industrial, engineering, and medical experts in defending such claims. Mr. Foerster is the co-editor of ABA's second edition, Toxic Tort Litigation treatise.
