Peter M. Labonski leads issuers and investment banks on transformational cross-border leveraged finance and capital markets transactions.

Mr. Labonski combines trusted relationships across a broad range of industries and more than three decades’ experience delivering the Latham platform to help clients navigate:

  • High yield debt offerings
  • Initial public offerings
  • Tender offer and consent solicitations
  • Restructurings
  • Bridge lending and loan commitments
  • The purchase and sale of restricted securities
  • Regulation S offerings
  • Other financial transactions

He builds effective deal teams and executes keen commercial judgment, crafting bespoke solutions to clients’ complex challenges. Mr. Labonski identifies the regulatory, tax, environmental, antitrust, and other significant issues that a principal may face in the transactional context and collaborates with colleagues across the firm to mitigate potential risk.

A recognized leader at the firm, Mr. Labonski serves as Global Chair of Client Intake and previously served as Global Chair of the Strategic Client Committee, Local Department Chair of the Corporate Department in the New York office, and Administrative Partner for the New York office from 2001 to 2010.

Mr. Labonski serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Lawyers Alliance for New York, where he previously served as Board Chair, and on the Finance Committee for the Mercy Learning Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Mr. Labonski served on both the Association of the Bar of City of New York’s Corporations Committee and the Committee on Securities Regulation. He also studied Japanese.

Those sponsors include KKR, One Equity Partners, Warburg Pincus, and Ares. Recently, Mr. Labonski led the IPO of Allegro Microsystems and the LBO by Allied Universal of G4Sand related financings.
