Camille Dorval is an associate in the Paris office of Latham & Watkins. She advises French and foreign companies from all industry sectors on complex commercial litigation, data protection, and various regulatory issues.

Ms. Dorval is member of the firm’s Data Privacy Committee and is involved in various pro bono matters.

 

Ms. Dorval's experience in complex commercial litigation includes:

  • Advising a major helicopter operator in the oil and gas industry against a helicopter manufacturer in an action for hidden defects
  • Advising a leading IT consulting firm in a lawsuit brought by its client for breach of a software integration contract
  • Advising a global hygiene and health company in follow-on damages claims following a cartel decision of the French Competition Authority
  • Advising clients in cross-border alternative dispute resolution processes
  • Advising an investment fund in a shareholders dispute
  • Advising a US provider of health technological services in a damages claim for sudden breach of commercial relationship
  • Advising a recruitment company against one of its competitor which had filed a discovery request
  • Advising a French insurance company in a criminal litigation for fraud against its former CIO
  • Advising a US medical device manufacturer before the Commercial Court to obtain the admission of its debt statement to the liabilities of a French company in judicial liquidation

Ms. Dorval's experience in data protection includes:

  • Advising global social media groups on day-to-day data protection, telecommunication law and consumer law issues
  • Assisting global social media groups in the context of investigation and request for information procedures carried out by the French data protection authority (CNIL)
  • Advising a global spirits group in its GDPR compliance program at a European level
  • Advising a US real estate company on its post-COVID-19 return-to-work program in the European Union (including conducting a data protection impact assessment)
  • Advising a US cosmetic retailer on the applicable consumer and data protection laws requirements for the implementation of its e-commerce website in France
  • Assisting clients with data breach notifications before the French and Belgian data protection authorities
  • Advising collaborative platforms on GDPR and consumer law compliance
