Austin Anderson is an associate in the Bay Area offices of Latham & Watkins.

Mr. Anderson advises clients across a range of industries on matters relating to data privacy and cybersecurity. Austin works closely with clients to address their unique risks in the collection, use, sharing, sale, and processing of data to develop strategies and procedures that are consistent with privacy and data protection laws, regulations, standards, and contractual obligations. In addition, Austin advises clients ranging from startups to multinational public companies on compliance with data protection requirements, negotiates privacy and data security provisions in commercial transactions, and engages in privacy and data security due diligence.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Anderson was a member of Latham & Watkins’ in-house Information Governance Compliance department, where he regularly assisted with developing and implementing policies relating to information security and privacy, risk management, and compliance with legal and ethical issues. While in law school, Mr. Anderson also focused on cybersecurity and data privacy, graduating from the concentration with honors from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.  

Mr. Anderson's experience includes representing:

  • SGH in its acquisition of Stratus Technologies
  • Madison Dearborn Partners in its US$1.8 billion acquisition of MoneyGram
