Silicon Valley Litigator Selected Among Top Trade Secrets Lawyers

October 15, 2019
Doug Lumish honored by the Daily Journal for his unmatched legal acumen litigating high-profile trade secrets cases.

Partner and Vice Chair of the Litigation & Trial DepartmentDoug Lumish has been named a Top Trade Secrets Lawyer by California’s legal newspaper of record, the Daily Journal. This is the first year the Daily Journal sought to honor the state’s elite trade secrets lawyers and fewer than 20 attorneys made the cut. Citing his “storied career,” Lumish was recognized for the “variety of high-profile and complicated intellectual property cases” he argues for some of the world’s most innovative companies.

Lumish is a trial lawyer representing technology and life sciences companies across the spectrum of their intellectual property and technology litigation. He regularly handles patent, trade secret, trademark, and copyright cases in district and Federal Circuit courts across the country, and before the International Trade Commission and customs regulators.

In his Daily Journal profile, Lumish notes, “In the crucible of trial, when you have all of this chaos of witnesses and documents and things that are happening, to keep control of that, to bring that down to a story with a central theme that carries through, that you can start with and end with, is really, really hard work,” Lumish said. “The stakes are really high. The ramifications of failure are terrible and the success we’ve had there just generally across many clients I’d say I’m most proud of.”

Lumish is routinely recognized as a leader in his field, and was recently chosen by the Daily Journal for their exclusive Top Intellectual Property Lawyer honor roll for the ninth consecutive year.
