Washington, D.C. Partner Honored with Pursuit of Justice Award

Stuart Kurlander recognized by the American Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists for his commitment to justice.

Global Co-Chair of Latham’s Israel Practice and former Global Co-Chair of the Healthcare & Life Sciences Practice, Stuart Kurlander was honored with the American Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists’ 2019 Pursuit of Justice Award. The award embodies the biblical directive “Tzedek, tzedek tirdof,” meaning “Justice, justice you shall pursue” and was given to Kurlander for his years of work as an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights as well as his continued commitment to Israel and the Jewish people.

Past recipients of the Pursuit of Justice Award include Supreme Court Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen G. Breyer and Elena Kagan and Latham Of Counsel Judge Jonathan Lippman.

Kurlander, Chair of the Washington, D.C. office’s Charitable Giving Committee, has a robust pro bono practice and has been honored in the past for his commitment to human rights, including being recognized as a 2019 Business of Pride honoree by the Washington Business Journal.
