Latham Named International Law Firm of the Year at British Legal Awards

Legal Week also honors London partner Kem Ihenacho as Mentor of the Year – Private Practice.

Latham & Watkins has been recognized as International Law Firm of the Year and London corporate partner Kem Ihenacho as Mentor of the Year – Private Practice at Legal Week’s 2020 British Legal Awards. The annual awards celebrate outstanding achievements by law firms, legal teams, and individuals in the UK legal sector. According to Legal Week, the judging panel noted that Latham “shows no signs of slowing down” on the heels of “a very strong year.”

With this recognition, Latham has completed an unprecedented hat-trick of top accolades in the UK’s most prestigious industry awards, including US Law Firm of the Year at the Legal Business Awards, City Firm of the Year at The Lawyer Awards 2020, and International Law Firm of the Year at Legal Week’s 2020 British Legal Awards.

Legal Week honored Ihenacho for his long-standing dedication to nurturing the professional development of young lawyers and supporting the progression of diverse talent at the firm and in the wider legal profession.

The firm and individual Latham lawyers also ranked as finalists in a number of categories. Legal Week shortlisted Latham as CSR/Diversity Initiative of the Year in recognition of the firm’s Black Lawyers Group, and as Team of the Year for Banking & Finance, International Arbitration, and Restructuring. The publication also recognized London partner Olly Middleton as a Litigation Rising Star finalist, and associate Alex Buckeridge-Hocking as a Rising Star Private Practice finalist.
