Latham & Watkins Advises L Catterton on Growth Investment in Berlin-Based FBA Aggregator SellerX

The €100 million Series B financing was led by the Growth Fund of L Catterton.

Latham & Watkins LLP has advised L Catterton on a growth investment in Europe’s leading aggregator of third-party e-commerce businesses SellerX. The €100 million (US$118 million) Series B financing was led by L Catterton's Growth Fund. Additional investors include Belgian investment company Sofina, as well as existing investors Cherry Ventures, Felix Capital, and 83North: this is the largest sum announced in a funding round by a Europe-based Amazon FBA aggregator. 

SellerX was founded in September 2020 by Harvard Business School graduates Malte Horeyseck and Philipp Triebel with the backing of investors. In the short 12 months of operation, SellerX has become one of the leading platforms for FBA retailers in Europe. 

L Catterton is the world’s largest consumer-focused private equity firm, with approximately $30 billion of equity capital across its fund strategies and 17 offices around worldwide. Since 1989, the firm has made over 250 investments in leading consumer brands. 

The team was led by Hamburg private equity partner Nils Röver, with London partner Mike Turner, Hamburg associates Philipp Thomssen and Lorenz Koffka. Advice was also provided on IP matters by Frankfurt partner Susan Kempe-Müller and associate Pia Sösemann; on tax matters by Hamburg partner Tobias Klass and associate Verena Seevers; on employment matters by Munich partner Tobias Leder; on data privacy matters by Frankfurt associate Valentino Halim and on finance matters by associate Kate Zhu.
