Mike Turner is a partner in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Corporate Department and Emerging Companies Practice. He primarily handles venture capital, growth equity, and M&A transactions.

He represents clients who operate across the TMT sector, with a particular focus on software, consumer internet, video games and e-sports, fintech, digital health, and e-commerce.

Mike’s TMT sector experience owes much to his time as a general partner in a technology-focused venture capital fund from 2005-2008.

Mike’s experience includes advising:

  • CVC Capital Partners on the acquisition of Jagex, a UK-based video game developer
  • TQ Ventures as lead investor in the seed funding round of Twain Technology UG, an AI sales communication business based in Germany
  • Savvy Games Group on its US$4.9 billion acquisition of Scopely, Inc.
  • Jawaker on its US$205 million sale to Stillfront
  • Ubisoft on its minority investment in Vela Games, an independent game studio
  • WorldRemit on its US$292 million Series E funding round
  • An undisclosed investor on the US$110 million Series B funding round for Einride AB, a leading transport company based in Sweden
  • An undisclosed investor on the US$350 million Series D funding round for Bought By Many, a pet insurance company
  • Hedosophia on its €400 Million SPAC IPO
  • Nanobit, a leading developer and publisher of mobile games based in Zagreb, Croatia on its sale to Stillfront 
  • Ericsson/Cradlepoint on its acquisition of Ericom Software
  • Savvy Games Group/EFG on its acquisition of Vindex (Esports Engine)
  • Permira Growth Opportunities in its participation in the GoCardless US$312 million Series G
  • Savvy Games Group on its acquisition of 8.8% of Embracer Group for US$1 billion
