Zainab Hashmi is a corporate associate in the Houston office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Corporate Department.

Ms. Hashmi advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets offerings, and related transactions. A versatile corporate lawyer, Ms. Hashmi’s practice includes:

Ms. Hashmi maintains an active pro bono practice, representing individuals seeking asylum, individuals to seal their juvenile criminal records, and for Lone Star Legal Aid clients in estate planning matters.

Ms. Hashmi attended Harvard Law School. While attending law school, Ms. Hashmi worked as a student legal extern at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office and mediated cases in small claims court as part of her clinical courses. She also served as vice president and treasurer of the Harvard Women’s Law Association and as a line editor for the Harvard Journal of Law and Technology and the Harvard Journal of Law and Gender.

Prior to law school, Ms. Hashmi was an international tax accountant at a public company in Houston. Ms. Hashmi also holds an active CPA license in Texas.
